In this project specific attention was given to building performances (energy consumption, internal and external comfort) and to the relation between the building itself and the urban context since preliminary design stage.

Classrooms shallow plan allows for efficient natural ventilation and daylighting, while external shading devices protect the building from summer and spring overheating. Specific windows design allows to achieve one side cross ventilation and dawn draught cooling.

The integration of renewable energy sources makes the building not only self sufficient from the energetic point of view, but even “active”. Which means that it produces more energy than its actual demand.

Building is designed in order to achieve the LEED Platinum certification.
