The building is placed in open countryside. The shape remembers the “growing moon” drawn in the Logo of the Company, the round wall facing south protects the building from solar radiation and gives thermal mass and heat stability to the rooms wherein the winemaking process happens. The opening of the Est facade links the “cantina” with the other facilities, a restaurant and a forestry, present on the site.
Although the wine production is sensitive to environmental factors, requiring specific level of humidity and temperatures not above 26° C, preliminary thermal simulations, carried out with EDSL TAS, showed that building geometry and materials manage to achieve a free running, passive, wine production.
